In order to use our in-browser WebRTC broadcaster to stream your performance; you will need to give permissions to the site to access your camera and microphone. The process is generally the same across browsers:
- After enabling the in-browser WebRTC broadcaster on the Go Live page, you will be presented with a request to allow the site to access your camera and microphone.
- Select allow and you should proceed to see the Camera and Microphone options of the broadcaster populate.
- Make sure your camera selected with an appropriate resolution;
- And that you have audio levels coming through the device you have selected.
- Click Start Broadcasting to begin your stream.
In the rest of this guide, we will go into detail on some of the more popular browsers:
Chrome
After selecting the in-browser WebRTC broadcast button,
A pop-up near the address bar will appear requesting access to your camera and microphone.
Click 'Allow' to allow access to these devices. You should see the Camera and Audio sections of the broadcaster populate with your available devices.
Note: If you receive an error or the devices do not populate; make sure your devices are properly connected and powered on. Select the lock icon in the address bar and ensure the Camera and Microphone switches are to the right and in blue.
Confirm the proper camera device is showing video in the preview window to the right. Select your resolution, up to 720p. If you would like to stream at a higher resolution, we recommend setting up your stream in OBS.
Confirm the proper audio device is selected and that it is receiving signal, indicated by the input level bar below. Incoming audio is indicated in green on the bar. If you would like to mute the signal for the stream, there is a mute button that will prevent your audio input from making it to the stream.
Once you have confirmed your video and audio settings; select 'Start Broadcasting' to begin your stream.
Firefox
After selecting the in-browser WebRTC broadcast button,
A pop-up near the address bar will appear requesting access to your camera and microphone. Select your audio device. Select 'Remember this decision'. Click 'Allow'.
You should see the Camera and Audio sections of the broadcaster populate with your available devices.
Note: If you receive an error or the devices do not populate; make sure your devices are properly connected and powered on. Reload the page and ensure you have checked 'Remember this decision' and select 'Allow'. In the address bar, a small red video icon should appear showing you have given access.

Note: If you receive an error or the devices do not populate; make sure your devices are properly connected and powered on. Click on the lock icon in the address bar and set the Camera and Microphone drop-down options to 'Allow'. Reload the page.
In addition to your devices populating the Camera and Audio options, the tab should display a red circle.

Note for MacOS
If this is your first time using your video and microphone in your browser, you may be presented with a challenge by your Mac operating system.
We suggest entering your System Preferences and entering the Security and Privacy Section. Scroll down to the Video and Microphone sections and make sure the browser you are using has been given the appropriate access to your devices.
